Precise split of estimator shares across offers and projects

When several people prepare one estimate, splitting its value equally doesn’t always show each estimator’s actual contribution. In Contractors.es you can now assign individual shares to each offer and project, so reports better reflect the team’s work.

Percentage or amount split

The new option “Change estimator shares” is available on offers and projects that have at least two estimators assigned. The user can pick the Split method: Percentage or Amount.

In percentage mode the shares must add up to 100%. In amount mode the system compares their sum with the offer value or contract amount and uses the right currency. While editing, messages Missing, Exceeded by and Sum correct show whether the split is complete. When you need a simple starting point, you can pick set equally.

Results that match actual contribution

The saved shares are used when dividing the value assigned to estimators in reports. This covers offer reports, won projects, employee effectiveness, and profit-and-loss statements, among others. If one person owns 70% of an estimate and another 30%, their results are calculated by that split instead of an automatic 50/50.

The split is also preserved when an accepted offer moves to execution as a project.

What this changes in practice

  • The business owner sees estimator results without inflating or understating their share.
  • The manager can settle a shared estimate according to the actual scope of work.
  • The team keeps the same split from the offer stage to the executed project.
